At Kensington and Chelsea, we know that to provide the highest-quality service to the community, we need to recruit excellent staff and provide really first class professional development.
As a Times ‘Best Councils to work for’ winner in 2007, and the highest ranked in London, you can be certain that we do all we can to assist the personal development of those who work for us. Whether that's through on-the-job training, broad ranging resources or simply a supportive environment.
For six years running, we have achieved the highest rating in the Comprehensive Performance Assessment, a test which determines how well a council is run. However, we face continual challenges. For instance, one in four households in the Royal Borough is a social housing tenant, and two-thirds of those are on housing benefits. Furthermore, 40 per cent of school children are eligible for free school meals. We are the second smallest local authority in the United Kingdom and the most densely populated one.
We work in a varied and vibrant community teeming with art galleries, museums, parks and shops. We have an incredibly diverse range of residents speaking over 100 different languages. We want our workforce to reflect this diversity.
If you follow our weblink below, you can find out about the different jobs that are currently available. You can also apply to our NQT Talent Pool if you are due to complete your Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) later this year.
